Care for the town.
Build community, support neighbors, and preserve the ordinary life every other struggle is meant to protect.
Three paths through Opaline
Lineage describes a character's nature. Faction describes what they choose to support, protect, challenge, or become.
Choose a path ↓Affiliation, not ability
Factions create relationships, duties, allies, and complications. They grant no automatic powers and never replace lineage, profession, personality, or individual morality.
Membership is a roleplay choice. A character may embrace a faction's ideals, disagree with its methods, struggle with its expectations, change allegiance through play, or remain independent.
The major factions
Each path offers a different answer to what Opaline needs most.
Community · Cooperation · Belonging
“Together We Thrive.”
Investigators · Guardians · Hunters
“Truth in Shadow. Duty in Light.”
Freedom · Dissent · Self-Determination
“Break the Old Ways.”
The essential distinction
Build community, support neighbors, and preserve the ordinary life every other struggle is meant to protect.
Investigate the unknown, protect the innocent, and accept the burden of defending the Veil.
Challenge authority, resist unjust tradition, and decide what freedom is worth—and what it costs.
Before choosing
Do they believe peace grows from community, vigilance, or liberty?
Which authority do they trust—and which would they openly resist?
What duty would they accept even when it threatens their personal life?
What line would they refuse to cross for their faction?
